Intranet and Extranet Solutions Print E-mail

Definitions vary, but traditionally both Intranet's and Extranet's are private networks that are restricted to access from your staff, clients, and other authorised users only, as opposed to the public offering that is the Internet. For want of a better method, you could visualise an 'Intranet' as a strictly internal system, and an 'Extranet' an external, wider area system.

Being network based, often the simplest solutions are based on the same protocol, and access methods as the Internet itself. If for no other reason than we all have access to a web browser, so it makes sense to use it. What's available to be seen is down to you and your needs.

At dotUK we have designed and implemented a number of content management systems and applications. Being built on our experience in Web Applications have a number of common requests and solutions you could consider;

  • Newsletters / Internal Publications
  • Calendar, Schedule, and Contact Management
  • Internal Policies & Procedures
  • Financial / Performance Reporting
  • Webmail
  • Web based Training
  • Resource Tracking
  • Discussion Boards
